Innovation Without Borders: How Technology Is Bridging the Global South and Advanced Economies By Arun Kar For much of modern history, technological innovation has been largely concentrated in a handful of advanced economies. Breakthroughs in computing, telecommunications, and industrial technologies have primarily emerged from innovation hubs in North America, Europe, and parts of East Asia. Emerging markets often collectively referred to as the “Global South” were typically positioned as adopters rather than creators of these technologies.
